The Lions Club of Tokai handed out dignity packs and sanitary pads to approximately 600 girls at three local schools, on International Women’s Day (Wednesday March 8).
The dignity packs contained deodorant, soap and sanitary pads and the club also handed out boxes of sanitary pads to these schools as part of their Girls Supporting Girls project, according to club president Mark Rossouw.
The recipient schools were Lavender High School in Lavender Hill, Masiphumelele High School in Masiphumelele and Crest Way High School in Retreat.
