Laura Elliott, Diep River
I am writing this letter in protest of the Plumstead library being closed due to budget constraints (“Pickets planned over library closure,” Bulletin February 17). I am devastated and shocked by this news. I can’t believe that they want to do this after approximately 60 years of service to the community.
I live in the Diep River area and use the library at least twice a month. It is of the utmost importance that it remains open to supply the public with books. This is an essential place to have for all residents and students. There are also a lot of pensioners who frequent the library too. If the library closes, what will the people without transportation do?
Please can you assist in keeping it open?
