We drive on Orpen Road in Tokai and have seen the baboons crossing the road or feeding (“Baboon put down after hit-and-run in Tokai,” Bulletin, January 12).
Usually, drivers slow down. Unfortunately, not all drivers using that road are aware that baboons are possibly at that place.
There should be large notices warning drivers of baboons’ presence in both directions of Orpen Road in the area where the animals normally move around.
Something must be done to protect our wild creatures.
